Materials:
- a clamp (with a heavy duty spring)
- a mini-tripod
- duct tape (and or rubber bands)
Usage:
Attaching a camera to the hockey glass can be a great way to get some close up shots of the hockey action … but not have to man the camcorder.
- recording the goalie
- recording a section of the ice
- recording the goals at one end of the rink unattended (ie. you can watch the game from the stands).
Materials I used:
- Irwin clamp I bought from Home Depot [link] [similar] [rona.ca] [might work] [3 inch spring clamp]
- Assia Pocket Tripod Universal [link]
- duct tape
Alternative Hardware: Tripod (Pedco Ultrapod mini Tripod, [link])
Final Product:
I essentially made this hockey glass “tripod” (? fastener) out of materials I had kicking around the house and I found it worked as intended. I am sure there are better or cheaper ways – share your ideas and setups !
Note: I’ll take a picture of it in action (fastened to the glass) and post it later 🙂
