How to make a hockey “tripod” that will attach to hockey glass – DIY special

Materials:

  • a clamp (with a heavy duty spring)
  • a mini-tripod
  • duct tape (and or rubber bands)

Usage:

Attaching a camera to the hockey glass can be a great way to get some close up shots of the hockey action … but not have to man the camcorder.

  • recording the goalie
  • recording a section of the ice
  • recording the goals at one end of the rink unattended (ie. you can watch the game from the stands).

Materials I used:

I essentially made this hockey glass “tripod” (? fastener) out of materials I had kicking around the house and I found it worked as intended.  I am sure there are better or cheaper ways – share your ideas and setups !

Note: I’ll take a picture of it in action (fastened to the glass) and post it later 🙂

So you want to videotape (camcorder recording) your kid’s hockey game ? You’ve come to the right place :)

Recording a hockey game can be a lasting memory that your child and the team will enjoy now and even more when they are older !

This blog is about video recording hockey.  I’ve made a few attempts and I’d like to share my experiences with fellow videotapers.  For myself, I am recording the game(s) to be a memory for the kids not as a way to improve their hockey skills.  Please feel free to share your experiences so others can benefit as well.
